Join us at Belmont University College of Law for an in-person lunch and CLE (or join by Zoom), as Grace Southerland Smith, Executive Director of AgeWell, and LAW member Brooke Coplon, an Associate at Wiseman Ashworth Trauger as they discuss "Overcoming the Caregiving Crunch" in a one hour dual credit CLE.
Today, many attorneys balance the practice of law with caregiving, which directly affects their well-being, ability to balance work and caregiving abilities, and ability to engage in the practice of law. This CLE will discuss the challenges faced by today’s caregivers and the resources available to them in the community. This CLE will give an overview of legal tools available to caregivers, including powers of attorney, advanced directives, and estate planning. In addition, this CLE will discuss Tennessee Rule of Professional Conduct 1.14 concerning the representation of clients with diminished capacity and its impact on the legal tools available to caregivers.
