The Networking Committee organizes informal events to provide LAW members with opportunities to get to know each other in casual social settings. In addition to an annual mixer with another professional women's group, this committee has also organized monthly ethnic lunches, coffee gatherings, a book club and monthly meetings of solo and small firm attorneys.
The Networking Committee is planning a series of monthly lunch connects for the 2010-2011 board year, providing more networking opportunities for our members, while offering reasons to try out some of Nashville's lesser known restaurants. Check the website calendar for the dates of the lunches.
Conversation Circles will be held to create opportunities for LAW members to have compelling and intimate discussions of issues that are important to women lawyers, such as equal pay, business building and work/life balance.
The Solos and Small firm Attorneys Group (aka "the Solos") will continue to meet the first Thursday of the month and occasionally for an evening social get-together. The group is open to solo and small firm attorneys who want to attend and participate. There are approximately 63 attorneys listed with the Solos group. This group is always open to new members and is an excellent resource for small practitioners looking to network, share resources and ideas and to provide referral. The website calendar will keep you updated on the topics and venues of the Solos' meetings.
